Senior Technology Reporter
Alex Kantrowitz is a senior technology reporter at BuzzFeed News. He began his career in sales and marketing, starting out as a media buyer at New York City’s Economic Development Corporation and then selling ad-tech for Operative Media (since acquired for $200 million). He moved into journalism as a freelancer working for Forbes, Fortune and others before Ad Age hired me to cover digital publishing and ad-tech.
He has since interviewed some of the world’s top CEOs, including Mark Zuckerberg, Richard Branson, Larry Ellison and Jack Dorsey. He was the first reporter let into Google’s anti-ad fraud division and spent days with Facebook’s artificial intelligence head, Yann LeCun, for a story about Facebook’s use of AI.
His work has been cited by dozens of major publications, from the New Yorker to the Wall Street Journal to Sports Illustrated. And as of June 2018, Alex was among the ten most cited technology reporters in the world, according to tech news aggregator Techmeme.
